Will Cowan
Will has had a passion for the outdoors since he was a young boy. His duck hunting roots started from his grandfather and fly-fishing interest that stemmed from his uncle, paved the vision for HookFire.
Being a young entrepreneur, he started a duck hunting guide service with his cousin and brother when he could barely drive, that has grown into over two decades of serving the discerning international outdoorsman.
Will graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management and Business. Soon after, he sold all of his belongings and left for South America to pursue his dreams of adventure, hunting, fishing, hiking, rafting, and exploring authentic hunting and fishing venues to send his vast network of friends to experience.
In the early years, living in Argentina, he was grateful to have partnered as the US Sales Representative for a company that pioneered the hunting and fishing industry in Argentina. They owned a portfolio of 10 lodges that Will helped grow to well over 18 lodges. Out of that experience, the HookFire vision was created in 2012.
His adventures have taken him to Brazil’s Amazon River, to the highest peaks in the Andes Mountains, to the plains of Africa, and the remote beaches in Costa Rica, to a large portion of the rest of the world. With this knowlodge he built a team that have sent thousands of clients to travel Argentina and the rest of the world.
Will’s mantra is “risk it all to do what you love with who you love and bless and serve others with the very best experiences you can provide for them.” As a guide, outfitter, dog trainer, and noticer, he loves people as much as he loves the outdoors.
He has received his Huntsmith Certification in Bird Dog Training from Ronnie Smith Kennels – the most prestigious apprenticeship program in the country and also has a dog therapy business where he is able to serve individuals, families and their dogs.
