Fly Fishing

HookFire invites you to fish one of the last frontiers in Patagonia Argentina. Where the mountains meet vast running waters teeming with trout. Have a choice of lakes, rivers and endless streams to fish during your stay. You will embark on a different piece of water everyday with your guide in a drift boat or wade fishing. This program takes place at El Encuentro lodge which resides on the Futaleufu River, one of the most breath-taking views from any lodge in Argentina.

You don't need to change a thing. The variety and quality of fishing were matched only by the courtesy and hospitality of your entire team. We got mountain streams, spring creeks, drift boat fishing, lake fishing, headwaters, and tail-waters. We danced the Tango, ate gourmet meals, and drank wonderful Malbec wines. We caught more trophy trout than we could count, and received more great memories than we deserved. Truly, the trip of a lifetime.

Sample Itinerary

DAY 1

Afternoon arrival to Esquel (ESQ) Airport. There is 1 daily flight from Buenos Aires (AEP) into Esquel, (please note this time could vary slightly). You will be greeted by a lodge representative & taken to the Lodge (Approx. 1 hr 20 min). This first afternoon will be spent scouting property, maybe casting a line, relaxing, and getting settled in.

DAY 2-6

Enjoy multiple days wading and floating the rivers, lakes and streams. After a great day fishing relax at the lodge with a cocktail and an optional massage. Overnight accommodations at the lodge.

DAY 7

Final morning at the lodge. (relaxed morning, sharing stories, photos & time to pack. Light lunch before departure to Esquel airport for your flight back to Buenos Aires, for your flight to the US from EZE (option to also overnight in Buenos Aires). Some guests are departing from Bariloche, and some are overnighting Buenos Aires on this last night. Please check your flight schedules.
